The Elson family have been living in the village since at least 1880 and there are 9 individual burials of Elson family members in St. Stephens churchyard. The most notable being: Frank Cowman at The Sale (Plot 371). William Henry / Annie Diary & produce farmer at Crown Farm (Plot 292). Their son William TA was a farmer at Pitt Farm (now called Homestead)(Plot 333).
