The Goring family were one of the original owners of Fradley Old Hall. The hall passed in marriage with Sarah Gilbert to William Goringe in 1672. They lived long together and produced a numerous family. The family of Goringe were descended from the Goringes of Sussex and bore the same (coat of) arms (Extract from Stebbing Shaw 1798). In 1798, the hall was occupied by a farmer, with the Goringe coat of arms still remaining over the front door.
