Mansell Family

In the 1939 census, Elizabeth Mansell is listed as a mixed farmer at Brickyard Farm, Hilliards Cross. ‘Tom’ George Thomas Mansell (Plot 124) was possibly Elizabeth’s son. He died in 1998, at the age of 85. He married Marjorie Turner who died 1992, aged 73. In later life, they lived at Overly House, Orgreave/Alrewas. Bill Mansell married Ethel Hitchings and lived at Hilliards Cross. Ethel’s parents, Alfred and Ivy (Plot 301), lived in a cottage at the Water Works (Brookhay).
