William Middleton resided at Sittles Farm in 1834, but we dont know much about the family. Henry Middleton was described in the 1939 census, as a general farmer (dairy and potato grower) at Bears Hay Farm. He died at the age of 53 (in 1951), whilst his wife. Olive, lived to 84 years old (d. 1987). Their son, John Middleton was a local Parish and District councillor, and was also a pilot. He died at the age of 79 in 2008. Henry, Olive and John are all buried at St. Stephens Churchyard (plots 200 and 218)
