We cannot find any direct evidence, but it is believed that the Worthington family farmed or possibly owned land in Fradley. Albert Octavuis Worthington was a partner in the Worthington Brewery in Burton on Trent and bought Maple Hayes estate in Lichfield in 1884. This was passed onto his son William Worthington who sold the 1500-acre estate in 1950. They were a very wealthy family and thought to have owned and farmed land in Lichfield, Fradley and Shenstone.
